Learn how we acheived 100% Energy self-sufficency
Almost anything on board is powered by electricity.
Refrigeration, navigation equipment, communication, water-desalination, heating & more.
550w Solar-Array
On a small vessel, like ours, usable space is usually a big constraint. Especially as our boat was designed in an era where solar panels werent common on boats, finding the necesarry surface are was quite a challenge. Luckily we´ve found a manufacturer that makes flat, laminate panes that could be integrated into our deck. Space that would be otherwise wasted.
watt&sea hydrogenerator
— 1200W of pure Water
Simple concept - big yield
The concept of a Hydrogenerator is pretty straighforward. Utilizing the energy and movement through the water generated by the wind and sails to generate electricity. - A bit like a Dyanmo on a bike.
Just that we have two propellers being trailed behind the boat in the water.
Depending on our speed (and the amount of wind) we can generate upto 1200W using out Dual-Hydrogenerator setup.
Neat.
